| Each of the twelve sessions will include some pre-work to be completed prior to the actual 1 hour Webinar. This may include watching a flash video or reading the CBOK. All pre-work will be available to the student prior to the Webinar. We have broken down each of the twelve weeks. |

| Week 1 – Introductions and developing a personal action plan to become certified |
Topics this week will focus on the why and what’s of becoming certified. A baseline of competencies will be established and a general explaining of the Common Body of Knowledge (CBOK). |
| Week 2 - Skill Category 1: Software Testing Principles and Concepts |
Topics this week will focus on development of a tester’s vocabulary. A clarification of terms like QA and QC and an explanation of the Cost of Quality. Sample test questions will also be discussed. |
| Week 3 - Skill Category 1: Software Testing Principles and Concepts |
Topics this week will focus on understanding what is testing and how it applies to different Software Development Lifecycles. We will also discuss defects and how they are introduced. |
| Week 4 - Skill Category 1: Software Testing Principles and Concepts |
Topics this week will continue discussions on the SDLC and the concepts behind the V-Model. The activities behind Verification and Validation will be introduced. |
| Week 5 - Skill Category 1: Software Testing Principles and Concepts |
Topics this week will move to testing concepts. White-box and Black-box testing concepts well be developed. The basic test stages will be discussed along with special types of test. |
| Week 6 - Skill Category 2 and 3: Building and Managing the Testing Environment |
Topics this week will focus on Building the Testing Environment and Test Tools. Communications and Software Configuration Management will be addressed. |
| Week 7 - Skill Category 4 and 5: Software Test Planning and Test Plan Executing |
Topics this week will focus on the risk to software testing and what must be considered when planning for test. |
| Week 8 - Skill Category 5: Executing the Test Plan |
Topics this week will focus on executing the test plan. A breakdown will be provided on each phase of the testing. Clarification will be giving on what a test case is vs. test scripts. |
| Week 9 - Skill Category 6: Test Status, Analysis and Reporting |
Topics this week will focus on measurement and how it affects our test effort. Defect management will be introduced as a preventive step. |
| Week 10 - Skill Category 7 and 8: User Acceptance Testing and Testing Software Developed by Outside Originations |
Topics this week will focus on roles and responsibilities of UAT and the four components of UAT. |
| Week 11 - Skill Category 9 and 10: Testing Controls and New Technologies |
Topics this week will focus on Internal Controls and Security Procedures used within our testing efforts. The testing of new technologies and the effort required for this will be addressed. |
| Week 12 – Review and Test Taking Tips |
Topics this week will focus on tips to help you be more confident walking into the exam. A sample exam will be given at end of this session. |
