Unit Testing

This one-day pre-conference “how to” course is designed to provide developers with procedures and tools to ensure the developed product meets the design specifications.  The seminar will begin with a process assessment tool to determine the testing needs of the attendee and their department.  The seminar will establish a testing foundation including black box, white box and gray box testing techniques.  Unit testing techniques discussed include code coverage levels, testing algorithms and computations, internal loops and subroutines, table and array testing, state transition testing, and the use of drivers and stubs.  Also included is an overview of unit test planning and code reviews.

Five Steps For Effective Quality & Testing Metrics

Measurement is an effective management tool to report quality results and to identify ways of improving the overall quality, testing, and delivery timeline of software products. Testing managers recognize the need for measurement but frequently are uncertain as to the best set of testing metrics and the availability of data for valid and reliable metrics. Having the wrong set of metrics can be more harmful then having no metrics at all, since “What you measure is what you get”! In this one-day tutorial you will learn the concepts of measurement and perform a readiness self-assessment based on eight key dimensions for successful measurement. This tutorial will equip you with a customizable five-step measurement process to design, build, implement, and report a pragmatic set of testing metrics for your organization. Using this proven measurement process, a measurement dashboard will be interactively developed for a testing organization.
