QAI's 27th Annual IT Quality Conference "Moving from Continuous Improvement to Revolutionary Change"
The major quality initiative of most IT organizations today is continuous improvement. Toyota, the worldwide leader, no longer believes that “Kaizen” (the relentless focus on continuous improvement) is now good enough to keep Toyota competitive worldwide. The reason is that, over time, incremental, continuous improvement is harder to achieve.
“Revolutionary” change, Toyota’s new quality initiative, involves a fundamental change in thinking about things such as building an automobile with 50% fewer parts. In “IT”, what if we could get requirements right the first time, do processes in much fewer steps, and reduce software defects by 50%? Your IT organization’s value would be significantly more competitive worldwide.
This conference taught how to perform revolutionary change that positively impacts IT value, how to be a creative thinker and provided IT work practices that will be “relevant” to IT organizations. Working with QAI’s professional staff, attendees learned a personal plan-of-action process, enabling attendees to increase their value to their IT organization and the IT organization’s value to the overall enterprise.
